ACML (Library)
Introduction
The AMD Core Math Library (ACML) incorporates BLAS, LAPACK and FFT routines, which are designed to be used by a wide range of software developers to obtain excellent performance from their applications running on AMD platforms. The highly optimized library contains numeric functions for mathematical, engineering, scientific and financial applications. Also provided by ACML are Fast scalar, vector, and array math transcendental library routines optimized for high performance on AMD Opteron processors and Random Number Generators.

----------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 30 Nov 2016 00:47:08 -0500 (EST) From: Doug Roberts <roberpj@sharcnet.ca> To: software-4@sharcnet.ca Subject: [SHARCNET ACML] Pending Module Version Removals Please note: acml module versions 4.3.0, 5.1.0 and 5.2.0 will be removed from Sharcnet systems Dec 5. Acml modules with version numbers 4.4.0 and 5.3.0 will remain installed for use instead. Be advised however that ACML has reached EOF (End-Of-Life) therefore alternative libraries should be used to achieve optimal performance on future newer hardware. See http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/archive/compute/amd-core-math-library-acml/ where possible options for replacement are summarized here http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/open-source/.
