Topic: “Git and SHARCNET” Speaker: Tyson Whitehead, SHARCNET Git was created several years ago by Linus Torvald to manage the Linux kernel source code. It has since grown to become a significant player in the world of version control. Torvald created git from the bottom up based on an very powerful and simple core model. A series of higher-level commands then evolved on top of this core over many years. This created the git we know today – a large pile of confusing, overlapping, and inconsistent commands from which it is almost impossible to divine the big picture. This talk aims to ease your git experience by presenting the big picture for you as well as introduce you to SHARCNET’s git services. Need help attending a webinar? See the SHARCNET Help Wiki. |
