Weinan E is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Program of Applied and Computational Mathematics at Princeton University. He received his Ph. D. from UCLA in 1989. After visiting positions at the Courant Institute and the Institute for Advanced Study, he took a faculty position at the Courant Institute from 1994 to 1999, before moving to Princeton University. He is the recipient of the PECASE awards, Feng Kang Prize and the ICIAM Collatz Prize.
