Abstract |
Wang-Landau algorithm is a generalized-ensemble Monte Carlo method that performs random walks in the system configuration space to obtain a close estimate of the density of states iteratively. It has been applied successfully to different research fields. In this paper, we propose a parallel implementation of the Wang-Landau algorithm on Computers of shared memory architecture by adopting the OpenMP API for distributed computing. The implementation has been applied to Ising model systems and promising speedups have been obtained. We have also studied how the different realizations of shared memory updating affect the running speed. |
